Physio Professionals® Hydrotherapy is a safe and fun way for both young and old to exercise – whether it be for fitness or just wellbeing.
What is Hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy is a specific Physiotherapist supervised treatment and exercise program, conducted in a heated pool. The heated water encourages stiff muscles and joints to relax while the bouyancy of the water takes the load off the bearing joints allowing them to be exercised painlessly. Hydrotherapy is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
The Australian Physiotherapy Association recommends the water temperature range of 32 degrees to aid in muscle relaxation to achieve greater results in aquatic Physiotherapy. Our Hydrotherapy classes are conducted at the Caloundra Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre in the designed under cover heated pool with railed stairs and mechanical chair for safe entry/exit. The pool depth ranges between 0.9m and 1.2m and is equipped with railings to assist with stability and additional exercises. The depth also allows non- swimmers to participate.
